Matthew 6:28-29 (NLT) says this, "And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don't work or make their clothing. Yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are."

As I searched deeply for where God was calling me in my life, this verse came to my heart. I heard the want of Jesus as he spoke for us not to worry about what we look like, for we are beautiful. The word Lilies stuck in my heart and my head as I went on with life the next few weeks. Struggling with loving who I was is such a HUGE part of my own testimony, and as I walked around with this verse ringing through my mind I began to see the passions God was giving me. He had so beautifully changed my life and was showing me where true beauty was found...in Him.

Therefore, Lilies was born into an idea. I knew my passion was to help women/girls of all ages find their true beauty in Christ. The number of women/girls struggling with self image issues, eating disorders, self harm issues, etc. is astonishing. I began to see the need grow as I started to really observe the women/girls around me, and even in the media and the world. How did I not realize that this was such a big problem? I cried out to God many times, frustrated and angry that so many women/girls were dealing with this. He then brought me back to my own story, and why I went through all of my self image problems began to become very clear.

Ladies, we are created beautiful. And maybe you have heard this a million times, and still don't believe it. Yet, I encourage you to see that we are beautiful because we are created by a BEAUTIFUL God. Who doesn't make mistakes, who doesn't judge, who doesn't care if we are skinny, curvy, tall, short, outgoing, shy, the list goes on and on. He loves you, because you're you.

That is the heart and the mission of Lilies. We are an encouraging community of women, who are joining together to stop the trend of self-hate. Instead create a trend of women finding their beauty in the One who created them so lovingly. Join us as we journey together, weekly blogs and videos will be posted, as well as community prayer will be open. Resources are available for your own small groups/youth groups/personal devotion time etc.

We love you ladies, continue to seek your beauty through the God who wants your heart.
